Do I need a decoder?
Only if your TV does not support DVB-T2. If it does, an automatic channel scan is usually enough and you do not need to buy anything. Take the compatibility check in two minutes.
Do I have to replace my TV?
Not necessarily. A DVB-T2 decoder connects to the TV you already have via HDMI and lets it receive the new signal.
What are DVB-T2 and H.265?
DVB-T2 is the modern European digital terrestrial TV standard used by the new platform in Cyprus. HEVC / H.265 is a modern video compression format for high-definition channels. The Mania 828 supports both.
Can I use my existing antenna?
In most cases, yes. According to Hellas Sat, the new platform broadcasts from the same sites. If you have very old cables or a signal booster, a technician may need to check them.
What does each package include?
- Decoder (€25): Golden Media Mania 828 decoder, Remote control, Power adapter. No HDMI cable included. Ideal if you already have one.
- Decoder + HDMI (€30): Golden Media Mania 828 decoder, Remote control, Power adapter, HDMI cable. Everything you need to connect to a TV with an HDMI input. Free delivery.
- Ready & preprogrammed (€35): Golden Media Mania 828 decoder, Remote control, Power adapter, Channels programmed before dispatch. No HDMI cable included.
Batteries are not included. An HDMI cable comes only with the “Decoder + HDMI” package.
What does “preprogrammed” mean?
The decoder arrives with the channels already programmed, so there is less to do at first setup. Reception depends on your area and antenna, so in some cases a new channel scan may be needed.
When is delivery free?
Delivery is free across Cyprus for orders of €30 or more, after any discounts. The “Ready & preprogrammed” package always ships free. Smaller orders pay €3 delivery.
How does the 15% discount work?
When your cart has 3 or more decoders, from any package or mix of packages, you automatically get 15% off the whole product total. No code needed. The discount does not apply to delivery.
How do I tune the channels?
Connect the antenna, HDMI and power, choose the right HDMI input on the TV and run an automatic channel scan following the device instructions. See the setup guide.
How fast is delivery?
Delivery within 1 business day across Cyprus. Delivered by Akis Express.
