Connect. Tune. All easy.
General steps for connecting to a TV with an HDMI input. Always follow the device manual too.
Connect the antenna
With all devices off, connect the antenna cable to the decoder's antenna input.
Connect the decoder to the TV
Use an HDMI cable from the decoder's HDMI output to an HDMI input on the TV. Remember which input (e.g. HDMI 1).
Connect power
Connect the decoder's power as the manual describes and switch the devices on.
Select the right TV input
On the TV remote, press the source button (usually “Source” or “Input”) and choose the HDMI input you used.
Scan for channels
Follow the decoder's first-time setup and the automatic channel scan described in its manual. With the ready & preprogrammed package the channels are already set; if channels are missing in your area, scan again.
Troubleshooting
No picture
- Check that the decoder and TV are on.
- Check the HDMI cable is firmly connected at both ends.
- Try another HDMI input or cable.
It says “no signal”
- Check the antenna cable and its connections.
- Hellas Sat recommends checking antenna direction, cable quality and connections: these solve most problems.
- If you have a signal booster, it may need adjusting by a technician.
Wrong TV input
- Press “Source” or “Input” on the TV remote and choose the HDMI input the decoder is connected to.
Missing channels
- Run another automatic channel scan.
- The new Hellas Sat platform broadcasts on UHF channels 35 and 48 across Cyprus and on 23 and 26 in the free Famagusta area. You can try a manual scan on those channels.
- Some decoders imported from Greece may need their country/region setting changed to another European region to tune automatically to the new frequencies.
- In some mountain areas reception may be limited.
Remote not responding
- Check the batteries and that they are inserted correctly (not included in the box).
- Point it straight at the decoder with nothing in front of it.
A decoder helps when the TV does not support DVB-T2. It does not fix antenna, cable or coverage problems.
